Courtney James

Courtney has been creating films for over 20 years and is an experienced story teller, writer, director and producer. He graduated with Honors in Film and Drama at McMaster University in 1999, and began his career as an actor, but has worked in various roles in the industry including: Stand In, Photo Double, Stunt Man, PA, and Assistant Director. He created and founded Admit One Productions in 2007, working as Director, Writer and Producer on commercials, music videos, web series, and music documentaries.

Courtney has been a part of multiple film festivals. His music documentary “The Global Groove Network” was an official selection at NXNE in 2013, sold to CBC in Canada, and distributed globally through Hulu, Vimeo, and Amazon in 2014. He won a Silver Award at The Atlanta Documentary Film Festival for his follow up GGN film “Life is But a Dream” in 2015. Most recently, he was nominated Best Web Series Pilot for his comedy “The Fursona Files” at the Montreal Web Film Fest and Web Series Global festival in LA in 2016 and was also nominated for best director and comedy web series at the Movie Maverick Awards in 2017.

Courtney latest drama series SIX CITY premieres – Fall 2018. His next series, Raveage premieres in 2019.


Jen James

Jen is a strategic problem solver with strengths in retail, marketing and operational thought leadership and a passion for producing film and television. She has been a partner in Admit One Productions since 2007 and recently went out on her own and started her consulting and coaching business, Double J Lifestyle Consulting and Coaching. Double J Lifestyle is all about creating purpose and changing lives. We help entrepreneurs and businesses manage through change.

Committed to customer experience, she has spent her 20+ years working with companies like Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Hudson’s Bay Company, Walmart and most recently, Metro Inc. While at Walmart she discovered her love for process and optimization and embarked on earning her Lean Six Sigma certification.

Unable to ignore the creative and entrepreneurial side within her, Jen spent time at Segal Licensing, OnBrand, and Fifth P.

Jen is passionate about people and leadership. She is a certified life and executive coach and a mentor to several women in the community. She is a member of Lean In Canada and Women in Film and Television, both networking groups to help accelerate the opportunities for women in their careers. She is a sports enthusiast, a certified yoga instructor, and is a runner.
